Case Studies

JP Enterprises strives to create a quality product by suggesting new ideas and possibilities to our customers each and every day. We cultivate an open working relationship and encourage the flow of ideas between the account executive, designer, and client. Each time we start a new project, we look at the big picture, as well as at the individual task at hand.

Adobe Channel Symposium Project — Creative Theme Graphics

In some instances, clients have a very strong vision of the look and feel of the final product. Because we are committed to gaining a clear understanding of our clients' goals and expectations, our highly trained staff of designers is dedicated to getting to know each client, and their business, before tackling any new project. This enables us to consistently create final product that is exactly what the client had envisioned.

Adobe Systems Incorporated knew just what they were looking for when they began events marketing planning for their Channel Symposium. But, when they turned the project over to a trade show company, they were not happy with the results. Having worked with JP Enterprises since 2005 on multiple projects, Adobe called upon our team of creative designers to complete the execution of this last minute challenge.

Adobe provided JP with some general direction and established expectations. Quickly and efficiently, the senior designer assigned to the project provided several options to the client, including new graphics and taglines. The client was overwhelmingly pleased with the results as they reflected what had been discussed — down to the very last detail.

Once Adobe reviewed their options and chose a design, they incorporated the new theme graphics and tagline into all of the events marketing collateral — posters, flyers, name tags, trade panels, and direction signage, as well as into all web-related event materials. Having taken the time to get to know Adobe as a client enabled the designer to understand and produce exactly what they were looking for. JP not only met this rush challenge on time, they executed it exactly the way Adobe had envisioned.

THOMAS & BETTS TY-RAP® CABLE TIES — Packaging

The purpose of attractive packaging is to set one product apart from another. Thomas & Betts (T&B), a long-time JP client, showed our design team their existing Ty-Rap® Cable Tie packaging, and explained that they were unhappy with the redesign proposed by their current agency.

JP submitted a proposal to revamp the Ty-Rap brand packaging, and T&B accepted it. The assigned JP designer analyzed the current packaging and considered ways to improve it. The most obvious challenge was the fact that the current branding was not strong — in fact, the brand mark was incorrect and the packaging looked generic in nature. The second challenge stemmed from the fact that text space was limited due to translation concerns.

Our designer's solution was to emphasize the product line's brand mark and incorporate the use of icons to visually play up its strengths. JP also chose to use a 3D rendering of the product (instead of a line drawing) and suggested using metallic ink for the metal piece of the product — the strongest feature that set it apart from its competitors.

The outcome was not only more visually appealing and eye-catching packaging, but a consistent look that would be used across all products within that family, making it that much easier for T&B customers to identify their items on the shelf. The client was so pleased with the end result that they enlisted JP to redesign the packaging of a related line of installation tools, as well as other brands in the T&B product line.

ACUTRAN — Rebranding

When Acutran, a first-time JP client, approached us with a flyer redesign project, one of our designers noticed that there was additional opportunity for them to improve the consistency of their overall brand. The company's existing logo was in need of an update, and so the designer offered Acutran multiple suggestions as to how they might improve it.

Our suggestions included a logo redesign that more closely identified with their company's culture and product line, and we also rewrote the flyer copy and retouched the images they provided.

Acutran was so pleased with the outcome of their new branding and flyer, our team suggested that they apply this new branding to their company web site to make the look and feel of their marketing efforts consistent, appealing, and recognizable. Acutran agreed and was appreciative of the results, stating that they would gladly use JP for future projects and would not hesitate to recommend us to others.
