Digital cameras and smart phones are everywhere, and they enable users to take tens of millions of photographs every day. But only a very small percentage of digital shutterbugs are capable of capturing a moment or making a subject, like an industrial product, eye catching or even heroic. That’s because the art of photography is difficult. Photo retouching is even more so.
The graphic design team at JP Enterprises is comprised of those rare individuals who can take and make great photographs, and their production skills are a major reason why our clients’ marketing collateral is so successful. When photography requires necessary enhancements, the graphic design team at JP Enterprises knows how to make those images pop.
“Our designers are highly skilled with photo retouch work,” says agency photographer Leon Winkowski. “For example, we can fix blemishes on people or remove imperfections, like scratches or signs of wear, on products. We can also add a logo or label to a product’s photograph that wasn’t there in the original shot.”
JP’s design team also excels in color correction. Such a technique is required when JP is supplied a photo that was taken in bad lighting or that has improper color balance. Even if an image has no color shift, JP’s design team can optimize color to increase the photo’s overall appeal.
“Both retouching and color correction are used to make an ordinary image look extraordinary,” explains Winkowski. “We can place a subject electronically in a dramatic scene and save our clients the time and money that would have been involved shooting talent in a different, more interesting location.”

“Our color correction services save one particular client thousands of dollars each year,” Winkowski continues. “We closely match colors to samples they provide us through a meticulous process that ends in our on-site proofing system. The final photograph colors come out so well that it allows the client to avoid special printing plates and inks, which can cause a print project’s cost to rise sharply. Another example of how we save our clients’ money is by digitally manipulating the appearance of prototypes when changes to product occur. This service not only saves clients money, but also time, labor, and materials.”

To ensure color accuracy, all monitors used in color-critical applications at JP are calibrated on a regular schedule to maintain accurate rendering of images and layouts. In addition, JP maintains constant contact with outside printer agents to confirm their recommended pre-press settings. This collaboration enables our vision to come to life on the printed page just the way we intended it to.
Full awareness of the subject and its surroundings is essential to taking any photograph. The highly skilled graphic design team at JP Enterprises knows which elements should be included or excluded to make a photograph truly great — and keep our clients satisfied.
